Welcome to our community.  Shir Hadash is a warm and welcoming place to explore Judaism through Torah (learning), Avodah (prayer), and Gemilut Hasadim (action).  As a Reconstructionist congregation we see ourselves as inheritors of an evolving chain of Jewish tradition, making it is our responsibility to take an active role in developing meaningful Jewish experiences that speak to us today.  Our practice is rooted in the timeless truths of Judaism informed by the influences that have shaped our tradition throughout the ages and the modern values and ideals that continue to shape our rituals and beliefs to this day.  Reconstructionism is a uniquely American response to the challenge of living as Jews and as Americans and responding authentically to all aspects of our identity.  Our congregation is growing and evolving and we invite you to join us.  Because we know that each person finds Jewish meaning in different ways, we meet regularly for Shabbat morning prayer services and Torah discussions, Friday night Shabbat dinner and discussions, and weeknight learning on a variety of topics.
